This is a lesson I did with my 1st graders with the Marbleized paper tutorial I did with them here. I taught them that a sketchbook can be used to sketch, write an idea, or put anything they want.
Supplies needed:
2- 8 1/2 x 11 white paper (computer paper), hole punch, 4 1/2 X 5 1/2 hole punched paper template (I used red paper), and two fasteners.
Cut the first 8 1/2 x 11 paper into fourths and Marbleize for the front and back covers, the extra paper can be put into the sketchbook. Here is the Marbleized paper tutorial.
The students will cut the second 8 1/2 x 11 white paper into fourths. They will use the red hole punch template to trace the circles and hole punch.
Here is a close up of how the students used the hole punch and put the fasteners on.
