Kool Aid Yarn Dye Hair Braid

Kool Aid can be used to dye just about anything. Here is my other tutorial on Kool Aid Hair Color. Today I am using kool aid to dye yarn to create a fun and funky hair braid.

Be sure to purchase Unsweetened Kool Aid and do NOT to add sugar or it will make the yarn sticky. Pour 1/2 cup of water into a pot and add the Kool Aid. When the water comes to a boil take it off the heat and dip the yarn attached to a clothespin so you don’t burn your fingers. Let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then place on a paper towel to dry. Buying different colors of yarn can become costly, if you have white yarn and different colors of Kool aid, which are only .20 cents a package, can be more cost effective. Plus you get to do a fun science experiment.

Then I braided your hair to the side and viola you have an edgy and colorful hair braid to freshen up your look. You could add different colors of yarn or even thin ribbons.
